How has your life changed since coming to Hearth homes?
“I have been able to open up and be myself. I've become less shy and I talk to more people. I could not talk in front of big groups of people before coming to Hearth Homes and now I have more confidence. Hearth Homes also helped me learn new parenting styles.”
If you could describe Hearth Homes in one word what would it be?
What is your favorite memory here?
“The mural reveal. I had only been living here for a week and I was able to talk in front of the people there. At that time I was still shy and it was the first step of me breaking out of my shell”
Has Hearth homes made you feel loved and respected?
“It has. Everyone here is family, and no matter what everyone else has on their plates, we still find time to have friendships and build relationships. They always have ears to listen if you need to talk or need help. They are good at giving advice too."
Do you as an individual feel more confident now than you did before coming to Hearth homes?“Yes, definitely I feel a lot more confident now than I did before coming to Hearth Homes. I would have never even considered doing an interview or opening up like this before”
What is your favorite Christmas tradition?
“On Christmas Eve my dad and I would always have a movie night and drink hot cocoa, and on Christmas day we would have a warm breakfast, buffet lunch, and ham dinner. Our family would just spend time together and it was really nice. I am going to start a new tradition this year of doing movie nights with my son on Christmas Eve to give him new jammies and baby cookies for that night. I want to make it special.
What do you want for Christmas this year?
“ I want to be able to see my dad and have him meet my son Lucas.”
