Hearth Homes was a vision from God when I was 15, and needed to be in a group home but there weren't any. My life went on for 30 years, in a multitude of very difficult and dangerous situations, and after becoming a single parent, it was time. Our first house in Spokane, WA opened in 2003. We attained non-profit status in 2004, and have been blessed to help women and their children see their lives in a new light, with hope and respect. They live in nice homes as a family, where they learn to get along, respect themselves and each other, mediate situations, schedule their time, budget their money, and learn about the saving grace of Jesus Christ. To save children from lives of abuse, we believe in raising up the Mother with the children. The children have had enough trauma without being sent to foster care and separated from their Mom. The typical person to abuse a child is a male unbonded adult. We want the Mom to have a choice in where she has to live to feel loved. We want them to be loved AND safe! Our second home opened in 2009 in Spokane Valley, WA and we are following Gods path and plan for us into the future. We hope to begin working with homeless youth in 2010, as current studies are astounding as to the sheer magnitude of the numbers! This is a critical time in a persons life to feel wanted, loved, with purpose and a future!
